Personal Statement
I love teaching...especially students who are motivated. I enjoy the challenge of teaching proper technique to students who are struggling with improper tonguing issues or students with rhythmic problems in particular. Many students struggle not because they lack talent, but because they have received poor instruction. I try to approach the challenges from many different angles. I am able to diagnose problems and plan a course of action to strengthen weaknesses in a player's technique. Most importantly, I listen...to a player's needs and goals...as well as the technical aspects of their playing. A teacher is only as good as their willingness/ability to respond to their students on all levels.
